1971 LINCOLN CONTINENTAL MK ill
This automobile has 143K actual miles. I have owned and
maintained the automobile since early 1972.
1. The 460 C.I. engine has been completely rebuilt. The
block re-bored to 470 C.I. and the heads compression
lowered from 10.5 to 9.
2. The original Distributor was replaced with an Electronic
Distributor. Consequently, leaded gasoline is not
required. Only 87 octane unleaded gas is required with no
loss of power or ping throughout the shifting process
regardless of how you drive it.
3. The rebuilding process allowed the timing to be set at
approximately 12 degrees which allows the engine to
operate extremely smooth with increased power.
4. The transmission was rebuilt by AAMCO.
5. The original cruise control was replaced with a modern
electronic unit which is hardly distinguishable from the
original manufacturer's equipment (OME).
6. A modern GM Moon Roof was installed with a new
headliner.
7. The OME vinyl roof was replaced.
8. The OME Leather Seats and Door Panels were replaced
with leather surpassing the quality of OME.
9. The carpet in the front and rear are OME and are in
excellent condition.
10. The original OME radio with 8-track was replaced
with an AMlFM cassette.
11. Approximately 4K miles on new radial tires.
12. New wet sanded ginger brown (original color) paint.
13. New Exhaust System.
14. Carburetor rebuilt.
15. New Heater Core.
16. Chromed headlight doors and gas tank fill door.
17. Front and rear bumpers re-chromed.
18. Cold AlC.
The automobile has been driven approximately 5K miles
since engine and transmission were rebuilt. It is in excellent
condition. All maintenance records since 1972 are available.
